My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My ultimate goal is for you to recognize who you are and what your purpose is in life, grow your self-esteem, and realize that you can overcome whatever obstacles you face, with God’s help. I will focus on helping you identify shame triggers as well as trauma triggers to gain an understanding of how to overcome the past and live in the present moment. One of my aims is to help you thrive in the present while coexisting with your emotions, yourself, and other relationships.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer an environment where you can feel seen and heard. As a follower of the God of all comfort, I will direct you to the comfort of our God while not shying away from addressing your concerns head-on. I also include teaching and education in every session as we discuss the topics you bring to our sessions. I understand how terrifying it can feel to come into a counseling session, so I work to create a place that rewards the efforts of those who come to the office to receive help.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
A true understanding of purpose and identity can only be found in Christ and the revealed Word of God. Therefore, Scripture and the Holy Spirit are my guides when working with any client. Colossians 1:17 expresses that “He existed before anything was made, and now everything finds completion in Him.” Revelation 4:11 say, “for You created all things and for your pleasure they were created and exist.” These two Scriptures provide the basis of my Christian counseling approach.
I believe in the importance of including the Lord, prayer, and Scripture to the level that a client is willing and comfortable to incorporate as part of their counseling experience. I believe that counseling is the work of the soul and that a broken soul impacts one’s ability to live and thrive. My own faith and mental health journey helped me to recognize the interconnection between having someone who is used by the Lord addressing the struggles of life.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Psychology and Equine Studies with an Emphasis in Equine Facilitated Mental Health from Asbury University in Kentucky and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University in Texas.
I have been counseling for over five years and have extensive experience working with adolescents, teenagers, adult individuals, and families struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm thoughts, suicidal thoughts, family issues, and identity challenges.
My Call to Christian Counseling
I have always had a desire to help people with mental health after my own experience and healing mental health journey. Originally, I was going to pursue a career as an applied behavioral analyst; however, after several doors closed, I felt the Lord calling me into the counseling profession. Once in the profession, I realized that I felt called to work with clients who struggled with suicidal ideation and hopelessness.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I have a multitude of hobbies and interests, including baking, cooking, and outdoor activities such as hiking, exploring, and traveling. I started and own a bakery, where I have the amazing opportunity to create and develop new recipes. I specialize in making banana bread, muffins, and pound cake, but I plan to expand further.
I used to be a professional horseback rider, horse trainer, and equine therapeutic riding instructor. I enjoy being outside or on adventures, so I am always looking for a fun location to explore. My passion for the gospel and travel has also greatly influenced my love for international mission work and trips.

Depression
Depression has a way of making people feel isolated, hopeless, and not like themselves. Whether you are struggling to interact in relationships, struggling to get out of your home, or struggling with high-functioning depression, I will walk alongside you. I will help you identify unhealthy beliefs, past issues, and shame that can influence depression. I want to help you find hope again and rediscover who you know yourself to be.
Anxiety
With so much chaos happening in the world, it seems that anxiety is on the rise. But many times, anxiety has much to do with the lens through which we look at the world. When working with anxiety, my goal is to help you recognize these unhealthy thinking patterns and help you begin to look at the world through a more helpful, God-centered lens that reduces your anxiety symptoms and leads to lasting peace.
Codependency
Codependency is a way many of us find to get our needs met in an unhealthy manner. For many, codependency has its roots in unhealthy family interaction, lack of boundaries, or low self-esteem. When working with codependent relationships, I help clients understand the role that they play (the codependent or dependent) and help clients address the shame and boundaries that tend to be the foundation for codependency.
Personal Development
Counseling isn’t just for people who are struggling. It can also be a place where you discover who you truly are. Through inquisitive conversations around values, goals, interests, and personal understanding of self, my goal is to help you truly know who you are and how you best operate. I want you to feel confident in yourself and your ability to be resilient in the face of challenges.
Trauma
Many struggle with trauma and the scars that trauma leaves behind. My goal in working with those who have experienced trauma is to first help them feel physically, emotionally, and psychologically safe as they discuss impactful trauma stories. Through grounding techniques, self-compassion, and the latest research, clients can overcome the trauma that has kept them from moving forward in life.
